MY SECOND STAY 2022

I first arrived at Adelaide House in June 2021.

At first, I was very apprehensive as I hadn’t done well in a previous AP placement.

I arrived late on my first day as I got lost with it being in a new city. However, when I arrived all my anxieties and worries evaporated. I received a warm welcome from the staff, they were understanding, and I found this very comforting. My first stay was short lived as I was recalled after 13 days.

My second time at Adelaide has been different. I knew where I was going and what was expected of me. I have made a few bad decisions so far, but the staff continue to be supportive and do not judge. They are putting things in place to help me and others.  I have been here for 3 weeks now, and I am doing much better than before. I am glad that Adelaide believes in second chances.

I have trust in the staff, and I am letting them ‘in’. Letting them get to know me. I am going to try to accept all the support to help me improve myself and avoid another recall.
