I FELT SO WELCOME
When I arrived at Adelaide, I was extremely nervous. I had served 5 years in jail and was very anxious. As soon as I walked in, the staff welcomed me, and I felt at ease straight away.
The amount of support I’ve had has been great and much appreciated. The resident house rep took me under her wing, helped me and continues to help me daily. Yes, you can speak to the staff but having the house rep is a good idea and I now class her as a good friend. They helped me to get into a routine and keep me occupied by joining in with different activities like: Diamond art, baking and cleaning.
I don’t have any family support so meeting and becoming friends with other women has been a blessing. I can literally talk to them and ask them anything and I know ill receive the best advice as they have our best interest at heart.
Being at Adelaide is helping me to prepare for my next step, to become independent and continue to live a crime and substance free life.
