Moreover, some words such as "pleasurable", "fun" and "happy" aren't usually applied to describe the atmosphere of an approved premises, but, they fit Adelaide House like a glove. Well done ladies !

Due to COVID our latest EE assessment was took place virtually on 14th December 2021. Our portfolio of evidence had been submitted at the end of November.

The Enabling Environment Award is a mark of quality that shows a service has met the standards and is an Enabling Environment.
The Enabling Environments framework is designed as a quality improvement mechanism to support more services to achieve a level of excellence in the way the relationships function within their environment.
It is generally accepted that good relationships promote well-being; but many services and environments fail to address this aspect of people’s lives.
The ‘Enabling Environments’ Award recognises healthy psychosocial environments and supports the development of good practice in creating and sustaining them.
The award recognises good practice in a variety of situations, across sectors and care pathways and will enable potential employees, recipients of care, referrers, commissioners and customers to locate good quality services that have a similar approach.
The Standards for Enabling Environments comprise ten standards outlining the core values of a healthy psychosocial environment with attendant criteria demonstrating how the values can be achieved in practice.
The standards were developed by the Enabling Environments Advisory Group, whose professional backgrounds cover housing, psychiatry and social research.
A literature review was conducted on the relationship between social environment and clinical outcome and the consultation process represented organisations in the NHS, the voluntary sector, social care, housing, the church, education, academia and private business, as well as to the Royal College’s Service User Recovery and Carers’ Forums.
