For most new arrivals, the most daunting aspect is not knowing what to expect.

When you arrive at Adelaide, you wil be greated by a member of staff.

In most cases, it will be your allocated keyworker who will great you. You will be welcomed in, offered a hot drink and (in the current cimate), you will have your temperature taken and a COVID test will be conducted.

After this, our induction process will begin. During this process, your licence conditions will be re-iterated, you will read and sign the AP rules and regulations, learn what the AP can offer you and also what the AP expects of you.

You will then be registered with our local GP, assisted to make a claim for benefits and complete a Care plan.

Once all of the formal induction has been completed, you will be shown to your room, given a tour of the AP and introduced to staff and residents.

We always suggest that you take the first day or two to settle in, take time for yourself and get to know the AP, staff and other residents.

You will be supported to make contact with other agencies that you may be working with and an appointment for initial induction with probation will be made.

You will be asked to pay 1 week rent £32.80) up front from your discharge grant, and a furhter 4 weeks rent will be due once you receive your advance payment from Universal credit. Rent is then payable, up front, on reciept of your monthly benefit payment.

You will also be requested to provide a urine sample for a drug test on your first day.
